 Singer's award winning Heavy Duty machines are fantastic for when you want to have the strength to sew a pair of curtains, repair jeans, quilt or upholster, but can also sew lightweight fabrics as a regular machine would. There are no real drawbacks to getting a heavy duty machine.

The combination of more powerful motor, more metal components and a dual pulley system driving the needle gives you that extra penetration power to tackle the heavier projects when needed on a long lasting durable and dependable machine. The Singer Heavy Duty 6805C is the ultimate powerhouse of heavy duty sewing machines. With 568 stitch applications that can be sewed at up to 1100 stitches-per-minute, and a full metal frame that keeps it running smoothly and skip free, even at high speeds, it can deal with thick, bulky fabrics quickly and efficiently.

It incorporates a computerised sewing machine with an LCD screen that shows you your stitch choice, width, and length so you can always see your chosen settings at any time. Enhanced piercing power allows you to deal with heavier fabrics with greater ease and an automatic ‘play’ button means the machine will automatically sew, making it great for long seams that you’d rather focus on feeding through the sewing machine.

The tie-off button can simply tie-off a stitch automatically so you don’t need to worry about the fiddly part of finishing a stitch, and with an automatic thread cutter too, you can simply cut a thread without fuss or fear of a tangle.

With a large amount of sewing space, that can be further increased with the extension table, bigger projects become less cumbersome and easier to manoeuvre, and with the free arm you can easily sew harder to reach areas like collars, cuffs, and hems.

I love my new Singer. I gave my lovely Singer one plus to my granddaughter who hopes to work in the fashion industry after graduating next year. I've always wanted a heavy duty machine and this one is brilliant. I love the scissor button and all of the stitch choices. The photos are of things I have made since it was delivered. These are two of my Vizla grandpups wearing their new pj's. 😍 I have made a crossbody bag for a friend and today, I'll be starting the first of 2 cot quilts for babies due in the new year. The machine runs smoothly, is surprisingly quiet and copes with the bulk of the fleece I used. The table and walking foot along with all of the other parts and bag are so useful. Thanks to Jason at Singer Outlet for his help with my order. I'm so happy that I bought it. I called my one plus Pearl cos Pearl's a Singer, but you probably all do that, this one is Pearl Grey . Absolutely love my new Singer Heavy Duty - she’s all the work horse I need , and a fine one at that.. effortlessly sews and easy to navigate with ample stitch options to use. I wanted a machine that was a bit more advance with plenty of decorative features for craft and home improvement projects, but also wanted it to take on occasional tougher fabrics and even leather. Delighted with my new Sewing Machine. Absolutely fantastic features on this model to suit everytjing that I need and probably many more. I ordered this unit with next day delivery by DPD. The item arrived a couple of days after ordering. I do wish that I had waited another 24hours to order, as the free gift was far more suited to my needs i.e A3 cutting mat but I received the bundle with A4 cutting mat. I did get some bobbins and needles included by the online representative, which was kind. The free gifts arrived several days later via Royal Mail. Overall, I am delighted with the sewing machine which had a better price than other retailers.

Like it, taking some time to get to know it, doesn’t have quite the finesse of my previous machine but it certainly deals well with heavier fabrics. Can’t quite master the automatic button holes yet. Like the fact that it cuts the threads when finished sewing. One slightly annoying thing is the foot lever is on the right hand side, my previous machine had it behind which was great as I am left handed. The additional table feels a bit cheap and it would have been good if a further tool storage compartment could have been made like the one in front. Overall, liking it but I’ve been using my old machine for nigh on 20 years! It’ll take a bit longer to get used to and I hope it lasts as long as the old one!

I am loving my new heavy duty singer sewing machine. I have only used a fraction of the machines stitches and am looking forward to exploring its full capabilities. But it is amazingly easy to use,with a good PDF file to keep you learning and understanding the functions and once I get to know it better, I know it’s going to be great to see the results of my work.. On a couple of negatives, I was expecting a complimentary set of Gutermann sewing threads, that never arrived and the flimsy cloth cover, is rubbish, considering the cost of this expensive,brilliant machine,it deserves protecting with a good quality cover. My last singer sewing machine that I had for 40 years, wasn’t a heavy duty machine and forcing it to attempt multiple layers of fabric, resulted in it breaking down. That had a nice leather cover. Why hasn’t this new one ? So I am now spending even more money on a cover.

This is my second Singer heavy duty HD6805 sewing machine. I do a lot of sewing so needed something that could handle daily use. My original machine is due in for a service as it's skipping stitches on the zig zag. As I couldn't manage without a machine I decided to purchase another and went for the same make and model, while I get my original in for a service. I use a lot of fleece fabric which can be double layers and there is no problem sewing through it. I will now have a back up machine as and if required.
