10 year guarantee - Terms and Conditions

Singer Sewing Outlet Extended 10-Year Guarantee

Singer Sewing Outlet 10 Year Guarantee

Provided free of charge on machines ordered from 6th June 2026.

In short

  • Your machine can be covered for 10 years in total from the date of purchase.
  • Years 1 and 2 are the standard Singer UK manufacturer guarantee.
  • Years 3 to 10 are our extended guarantee, provided directly by Singer Sewing Outlet.
  • The extended guarantee only begins once your machine has had its first service with us. This must be completed within 3 months of your 2 year point.
  • After that, your machine must be serviced by Singer Sewing Outlet every 2 years to keep the cover active. Servicing is chargeable at our standard rates and must be booked and paid for directly with us.
  • From year 3 onwards you pay to send your machine to us. We return it to you anywhere in the UK free of charge.
  • This guarantee is offered in addition to your legal rights and does not affect them.

Servicing requirement

Regular servicing keeps a sewing machine running correctly, and it is a condition of the extended guarantee. This is not optional.

Your first service must be completed within 3 months of the second anniversary of your purchase. If this first service is not completed within that window, the extended guarantee does not come into effect, and your cover ends when the 2 year Singer UK guarantee ends.

Once the extended guarantee is active, your machine must be serviced by us every 2 years to keep it active. Each subsequent service must be completed within 3 months of its due date. If a service is not completed within its window, the extended guarantee ends at that point and cannot be reinstated.

All servicing under this guarantee must be booked and paid for directly with Singer Sewing Outlet. Servicing carried out elsewhere, including by other Singer dealers or independent engineers, does not satisfy this requirement and will not keep the extended guarantee active. Standard service charges apply and are payable by you. Please keep your service receipts as proof. It is your responsibility to book each service within its window.

Machines that have not been serviced in line with this requirement are not covered by the extended guarantee.

What is covered

This extended guarantee covers Singer and Bernette domestic sewing machines and overlockers sold in the United Kingdom by Singer Sewing Outlet. Defects arising from faulty materials or workmanship will be repaired free of charge.

If repair is not practical or economical, Singer Sewing Outlet reserves the right to replace the machine with the same or a comparable model. Liability for consequential loss, whether direct or indirect, is excluded except where the law does not allow us to exclude it.

Domestic use only. This guarantee applies to machines used in a home environment and does not cover commercial or trade use.

Please keep the original packaging, including the outer box and polystyrene inserts, so your machine can be transported safely for service or repair.

Getting your machine to us and back

The extended guarantee is provided by Singer Sewing Outlet and is separate from the Singer UK manufacturer guarantee. From year 3 onwards, carriage is handled as follows.

  • Sending your machine to us: at your cost. You can arrange your own courier, ask us to arrange a return label at our standard rates, or bring the machine to our showroom in Kings Langley.
  • Returning your machine to you: free of charge to any UK mainland address once the service or repair is complete.

Please contact us before sending any machine so we can confirm the correct address and give you a reference. Machines sent without prior contact may be refused.

Please pack your machine in its original box with the polystyrene inserts. We cannot accept responsibility for damage caused in transit to us.

What is not covered

  • Machines that have not been serviced by us in line with the servicing requirement above. If the first service is not completed within 3 months of the second anniversary of purchase, the extended guarantee does not come into effect.
  • Servicing or repairs carried out by anyone other than Singer Sewing Outlet, or using non-Singer parts.
  • Use for profit or trade, or outside normal domestic circumstances.
  • Use on an incorrect supply circuit or voltage.
  • Parts requiring replacement due to normal wear and tear, or damage caused by negligence or misuse.
  • Failure to fit or fuse the plug in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Consumables such as needles, bobbins, bobbin cases, needle plates, belts, light bulbs and needle threaders.
  • The cost of sending your machine to us, which is payable by you for any service or claim after the first 2 years.
  • Machines purchased second-hand.
  • Adjustments and maintenance that are the customer's responsibility, including timing adjustments.
  • Damage caused by not following the instruction manual, or by accidental or deliberate misuse.
