This new pedal gives me much greater control. I love the slow start speed. Before I was having to hand crank when doing intricate sewing. With my new pedal I am now able to adjust the speed to a more manageable level.
This new turtle foot is amazing. It makes such a difference. If only it had come out two months ago before I had bought myself an electronic sewing machine that has variable speed because the Singer Heavy Duty, although it is a fantastic machine, simply goes too fast for sewing tricky bits with its old foot.
Although I had got used to the speed of my old pedal it’s so much easier to use than the jerky stop start sewing technique I previously used to control my speed. Much easier for controlling the speed on top stitching and still goes to the normal fast speed when you need it to. Personally I think this pedal should be sold as standard on all singers!
I absolutely love this pedal as I am not a full speed freak, slow and steady is my preferred mode and as I am not an expert by any means the turtle gives me the ability to do my best.
Thank you Singer. My Turtle foot pedal is wonderful. It provides excellent control and my stitching is much more consistent and accurate. I am a relative novice sewer and struggled at times to keep the speed of the machine down to a reasonable level. It used to run away from me and I was often disappointed with the quality of my stitching. My new pedal makes such a difference. My only regret is that it wasn’t provided with my machine. It possibly was not available at that time.
I bought this to go with my Singer domestic sewing machine not heavy duty. I am a qualified electrician so I was able to change the wiring to suit the connection to my machine. In operation it is fantastic, especially being able to get a very slow start and to continually run slowly.
I was sceptical but bought it anyway, and it’s a revelation, deffo gone a very long way to curing my somewhat heavy accelerator foot, a much more manageable speed even when I get a bit heavy on it, and it’s perfect for really slow careful fiddly sewing, would highly recommend it
The first foot pedal I was sent didn’t seem much slower , but I was sent a replacement which is definitely slower and makes sewing difficult areas so much easier .

I ordered the turtle pedal as my singer heavy duty ran came with a pedal that had one speed which was too fast for intricate work and caused frequent broken needles when sewing through denim. I have used this pedal when shortening two pairs of jeans so far. Being able to drop to a stitch per second going through the thicker parts where the side hem is folded meant no broken needles. This pedal is better than the pedal that comes with the machine by far! I can sew at a speed to suit the project now.
Let’s you slow the needle down and this is ace when learning which I am. I think full speed is still the same but slow is very slow and that’s what it’s for.
This turtle foot pedal gives me more control the slower speed is excellent (especially sewing zips etc) it does exactly what the description says I would strongly recommend it
I've used the turtle for pedal on a few garments now and definitely have more control over the speed than with the original pedal. I've not sewn anything complicated/delicate yet, but would feel more confident to do so with this turtle pedal. My original sewing machine had a lever that I could set the speed between 'tortoise and hare', it wasn't until I got my new Singer last year that I realised how much I had benefitted from speed control, it's good to have that again!
IVe only had a short trial using this new control foot. Very easy to use and does exactly as advertised. Good control at starting and slower speed which is exactly what I was hoping for. Very happy with my purchase. Thank you.

I was actually looking for this turtle foot controller for my Singer 8280 that was quite fast in sewing. I use it mainly for quilting, so a speedy machine is quite difficult to control. This turtle foot controller helps slow down the machine, although not as slow as the new machine that I purchased (7285Q).
i am so pleased with my new foot plate. It responds well when i use it. i find it is easier to control than the old foot plate. I am making pads for the Pasha Mama project. The pads have corners, so it is essential that i can control the stitching around them. Being able to slow down the speed has made a real difference.
