The Bernette b35 is a mechanical sewing machine for those who like more of a traditional approach to their sewing, with no complex digital controls. With 23 built-in stitches, and coming with seven presser feet, this is a versatile and adaptable sewing machine that can perform utility, and decorative stitches that can be easily adjusted. With three dials for stitch length, width, and pattern you can instantly alter them with a simple turn of a knob.
Using the automatic buttonhole feature, you can easily include them in your project without having to lift the needle or change settings on the machine. Other convenience features include a manual needle threader and manual needle cutter to eliminate the most time-consuming facets of sewing.
Including an extra high presser foot lift, you can sew thick layers of fabric with greater ease, especially useful for quilting or sewing denim, whilst the high piercing power of the b35 means you can work on a wide range of material from finer pieces to heavier textiles.

Everything about this transaction has been sound - prompt and efficient. Thank you. I love my new machine. It replaces my Frister Rossman bought in 1978 and I was quite nervous about using another sewing machine at 73 years of age! I have serious problems with arthritis in my hands and this new sewing machine is helping me overcome the difficulties I have been having. It is simple and straight forward to use and produces lovely stitching. I'm still learning - and thoroughly enjoying making friends with my new Bernina Bernette. Thank you so very much.
Service was excellent and the machine is brilliant. My first machine was a Bernina and I had it for over 40 years. I should have had it repaired but did not. Now I am back sewing I needed a good machine hence the purchase. I am very pleased and hope it last as long as my old one.

Recently purchased the Bernina sewing machine having upgraded from a rather basic Brother machine. What can I say ‘it’s superb I love it!’ A robust and easy to use machine. I’ve only used a few of the stitches so far and it sees like a dream. Threading up the reel straightforward on the machine. The only qualm I have with this machine is it should of come with a dust cover not have to see one up yourself spending more money on material, as the price point wasn’t that cheap (mid range prices). If your a beginner or intermediate sewing user then this machine is ideal, however advanced users will require machines that offer more functions etc. Nonetheless this is an outstanding piece of machine which will last me for many years to come 🙂
Fantastic machine just what I wanted very helpful staff helped me the order over phone just disappointed with free gift package as I didn’t receive what was advertised but the machine and bag was brilliant
The machine is well built, sturdy but light weight enough to be carried to classes and workshops. The instruction booklet is clear and easy to follow. It's useful having the dial to move the needle position as I'm a patchwork quilter and need to set the machine to stitch quarter inch seams.
I use a spool stand behind the machine rather than the spool pins on top of the machine to ensure a good take up from spiral wound thread spools. I'm particularly impressed with the even feed of fabric layers as the machine stitches as well as the stitch quality.
I have given this machine 4 stars because of one niggle that I can't fix. Namely the metal needle plate lies a couple of millimetres above the bed of the machine creating a 'lip' that can flip seams the wrong way. This is not a deal breaker for me, the build and stitch quality are better than many much more expensive machines.
Having seen an advert for Live Sewing store during a game I was playing, I thought, why not give sewing a go, it’s something new to learn. I spoke to a lovely lady on live chat who said that the Bernette B35 was a good beginner choice. It is a very simple to use machine, I have only really played around with it and am looking forward to my first project. There’s a lot to discover but it doesn’t seem at all daunting (famous last words) .
I have had a classic Bernina minimatic for over 40 years so wondered what the build quality would be like with the Bernette B35 - I needn’t have worried. It feels weighty and substantial and I am very pleased with the stitch quality.
Very happy with the machine. It is easy to use with a good selection of stitches. It is not too heavy when lifting and compact for easy storage.

Very easy to operate, light to carry around - I also bought a bright pink carrying case :-) - this machine is a smooth operator. It was delivered swiftly and safely and so far has helped me make three patchwork quilts and a number of face masks. It is a joy to use and has since acquired a walking foot (excellent), a quilting foot and its very own supply of quilting needles. What's not to like?
The basic machine is easy to use once I got used to it. Unfortunately the automatic needle threader doesn’t work whatever I do to correct it. This was the main design feature that I wanted as needle threading can be tiresome for tired eyes. As it would have involved posting the machine back which during the lockdown wouldn’t have been easy I have stuck with the fault. Such a shame. I am now used to the actual machine and find it good.
GREAT MACHINE QUALITY FEEL ABOUT IT .Nice touches like easy set up and auto needle threader , having had three Singers we decided to try another brand after the last singer didn't live up to expectations this machine is excellent glad we decided to try it.
Have been using it every day for more than / almost a month now (I think) and so far so good. It is exactly what I expected, really nice product, delivery was really quick and it arrived in a perfect state. One could tell it had been handled with care. Love it :)
Excellent delivery service....Delighted with this machine, just love it! perfect for what I need, nothing too fussy and technical but decent quality, it feels quite solid to sew with despite being a reasonably lightweight machine., easy to transport around. The instructions are clear and straightforward mastered the automatic buttonhole setting quickly, but remember to reset after each buttonhole, I kept forgetting and messed up the next one... Love the needle threader too, saves a lot of stress!.....I'm really looking forward to using this machine for future projects, it's rekindled my love of sewing again.
