The Confidence 7640 sewing machine has many features sewists love! With 200 stitches from which to choose, you can create and embellish fashions, home decor and much more. There are alpha-numeric patterns built-in as well, so you can personalise projects with lettering. Sew buttonholes in one easy step with consistent results every time. You can even choose from 8 different styles of buttonholes – like the basic bartack style, round end and keyhole, great for menswear and outerwear. Programmable Needle Up/Down is a must-have for quilting, sewing appliques and even topstitching. When you select a stitch, the optimum stitch length and width are selected for you, saving time. Customise stitches to personalise projects using adjustable stitch length and stitch width, viewable on the LCD screen.
The Top Drop-in Bobbin allows you to easily monitor your thread supply so you don't run out of thread in the middle of a seam. You can even set the maximum sewing speed of the machine using the Speed Control lever – slower for more intricate projects or faster for long seams on curtains or duvets – you're always in control. Take off the Removable Storage Compartment to access the Free Arm, which makes it even easier to sew around trouser hems and cuffs, children's clothing and other smaller projects. There is also an online Owner's Class video available whenever you feel like you want a little assistance.

Touch Button Stitch Selection
Select your stitch with a simple touch of a button - the optimum stitch length and stitch width are preselected so you can start sewing faster, but stitch settings can be adjusted as desired to customized for your projects -
Adjustable Stitch Length (4.5mm)
Customize the appearance of a stitch by increasing or decreasing the distance between stitches. Use this function for various stitch techniques like applique, basting and more. -
Adjustable Stitch Width (7mm)
The size of the stitch from left to right is adjustable, to make the stitch sew narrower or wider as desired. -
Reverse (Touch Button)

Absolutely love my new machine and got it at a great price as it was an ex-display machine. I was pleased to learn that even though it was ex-display, it still came with a 10 year warranty. Customer services were brilliant with a couple of queries that I had and the machine arrived quickly. I would definitely recommend buying anything from here
It's just what I needed.
This is my third singer sewing machine, and only purchased this model, as it had start stop button, as finding foot deals had to use, due to nerve damage. Would highly recommend this machine, easy to carry to my craft club.
Fast delivery and a wonderful machine. I very pleased with its operation and easy to use controls. (This is from someone who was still using their grandmother’s 1915 hand cranked singer).
Took a few attempts to get the tension correct, once I’d sorted this though the machine works like a dream. Still learning all the functions but I’m so excited to learn everything I can do with my new machine.

I purchased my Singer Confidence 7640 Sewing Machine inc. Extension table as Ex Display in August I was thrilled, unfortunately the buttonhole attachment didn't work initially but all due respect the machine was collected sorted and returned within 48 hours excellent service so I am more than pleased with both the machine and the the support from Live Sewing however the threader is a little sensitive so I tend to handle with care but otherwise delighted
I got a ex display sewing machine it was all clean everything was there and it sews lovely and the help I got from starf befor I got it was fantastic will recommend
Love the sewing machine but find the reverse doesn’t always reverse if you don’t quite get your finger in the right place.
I have found this machine incredibly easy to use , amazed over the button holing how simple it is to do , the lettering , and the embrodery stitches .
I am very happy with my purchase. The machine was delivered within 48 hours of the order being submitted. The u tube demonstration was very helpful, I watched it several times. The machine is straightforward and simple to use, though I have not managed the automatic needle threader, perhaps I’ll just have to practice some more.
I am loving my Singer 7640 ex-display machine. A powerful machine which sews through several layers of material very easily. Well worth the extra money for this high powered machine. Perfect for making Curtains with thick blanket lining. I would give this machine 5 stars, except the self threading mechanism does not work. (Although I did not complain about it, to the suppliers). I highly recommend this machine, and love sewing on mine! Delivered within time stated on order.
I recently purchased a Singer Confidence. It is a super machine, so easy to use and a delight to handle. It does all the things I need it to do. I would have given it 5 stars but I bought an ex-display model and when it arrived it was missing some accessories but the customer service department solved that issue straight away. The only thing that remains missing is the key to the stitches. I managed to find an image of this and enlarged it and laminated it so problem solved. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and the way the company dealt with me.

An excellent machine lived up to its discription
I have been very pleased with this singer machine but recently I have had trouble with the needle threaded.
