I was very happy to open the box and see the machine was partly threaded with colours. I could n’t work out how to open the sliding door. Called the singer help line so that was good. Think a link to a brochure would be helpful. I found some threading tutorials on you tube as 1 and learnt how to thread 1 and 2, then it worked. Was great to get it working. The colour coding instructions were good but the loopers hard to make out.
Loving my new Singer Overlocker. It was a good price and has a 12 yr guarantee. Ive ordered a manual from the website as prefer a book to looking online. Very happy 😊
Machines are great
Got this for my birthday and to add to my sewing room. Having done a bit of googling first I was apprehensive about my ability to even thread it, and how scary overlockers are - however, all wrong this was easy to thread following the in panel diagrams and wow can it sew. Motoring away on bags, non-paper towels and you name it, it really is an asset to the sewing room and glad I took the plunge. I really would recommend this machine and to top it all it looks good and considering what it can do, takes up very little space in comparison.

First overlocker so a bit daunted to start with. The online manual was a great help getting started. After a bit of time trying to get it threaded, I have now used it on my first project. All going well and second project already planned.
Excellent product
I bit the bullet and finally replaced my very very very old Overlocker. This was a Model 14 U13... I have no idea when Singer stopped making that model! The beauty of the 14 U13 is that it never broke!! The sad thing was that I bought it in Jamaica when I lived there so I needed to use a step-down transformer to be able to use it in England. I am sooo happy with my new Elite Heavy Duty SE017 Overlocker!! I immediately threaded it by the timing on method but some of my knots weren't very secure. I found threading the lower looper a bit fiddly at first but the manual cleared that up quickly (I should have read the manual first :-) I have only did test runs so no pictures just yet, but have big plans for my SE017!!
My new Singer Overlocker is such an excellent product. It produces the neatest, most professional 'finish' I could have hoped for.
Love this machine. It's a bit noisier than I thought it would be but I think it will get better the more I use it. Fiddly to thread but there's plenty of step by step videos on YouTube to help.
Everything I expected. Great machine
This is my first time using an overlocker and I absolutely love it. The machine is very user friendly and makes my garments look professional. Delivery was super quick as well.
It took a while to set up as we're new to overlockers. Once operational, it has proved very useful and easy to use.

Lovely little machine and love that it catches the off cuts in its bag. So easy to use. I am hoping to make a lot of clothes with it.
Delivery was quick. The overlocker is easy to thread and overlocks the seams while trimming to give a very professional finish.
New to overlooking. Was daunted about threading but really not that difficult. Very smooth and nice to use. Cant wait to begin my projects
Good solid machine. Fairly easy to thread once you get the hang of it, I definitely need tweezers to thread the loopers. Having the thread catcher is a bonus. Sews well, it’s been excellent on the jersey fabric I’ve used so far. I feel it’s a step up from a ‘basic’ overlocker although I haven’t used all the features yet.

I was very pleased with the way one of the staff has handled my query. I was not sure which overlocker do I want and a lovely lady has helped me make a decision and I had a good deal on it as well. Arrived very next day which was even more amazing.
Singer Elite SE017 Overlocker with Heavy Duty motor
I recently purchased my first Overlocker and I was initially daunted by which brand machine to choose. I finally decided on the singer elite Overlocker and I must say how delighted I am with it. It looks great, great value for money, but for me and most importantly the ease of use. I watched some YouTube videos prior to use and followed the simple instructions on threading and it is so easy to do. I absolutely love using my new machine, it was a bit costly for me but it really is a great investment and I would definitely recommend this machine to any sewing enthusiast new or experienced.
good value for money, easy to use
Very easy to use and small enough to store or leave on the sewing table. I am very new to overlockers and was intimidated at the idea of using one however this is extremely easy. Though I did need to access the internet to figure out how to change the thread.
