I have had my new machine a few weeks now and used it daily on different stitching tasks. I thought it would be a seconds machine or with cosmetic damage but I couldn't find a mark on it at all! The only thing different to a new machine was the box. I chose this model because I wanted a Singer and a workhorse. I do a lot of mixed machine work and wanted reliability and confidence in a name I am familiar with, (plus the matt black model looks stylish.) the one feature I am very impressed with is the weight of the machine. It doesn't move an inch or walk across the table, even when stitching heavy fabrics. The higher speed took me by surprise as I have never used a fast machine, it's like going from a mini to a jaguar! However the foot pedal can be controlled ok. I do a lot of quilting and patchwork piecing and have been able to go from one to the other and back again with no need to change settings for tension or stitches. It has a useful feature to drop the feed dog for free motion quilting which works very nicely and has very even stitches. I would highly recommend an even walking foot which makes quilting so very easy now. Singer has a huge range of needles and accessories including an extension table which is a must have for larger projects. This model - 4432- has a huge range of stitches and variations. It's a manual machine and perfect for me. Very happy with my new repair of hands!
