 Singer's award winning Heavy Duty machines are fantastic for when you want to have the strength to sew a pair of curtains, repair jeans, quilt or upholster, but can also sew lightweight fabrics as a regular machine would. There are no real drawbacks to getting a heavy duty machine.

The combination of more powerful motor, more metal components and a dual pulley system driving the needle gives you that extra penetration power to tackle the heavier projects when needed on a long lasting durable and dependable machine. They also sew faster than a regular machine at full speed should you want to, but are completely controllable going down to 1 stitch per second when using the foot controller or built in speed control slider.

The HD6705 has a huge number of stitch applications (over 400) as well as 1 step automatic buttonholes in multiple designs and automatic needle threader. The Singer Heavy Duty 6705C is a heavy duty sewing machine with computerised settings to make sewing quicker, easier, and more efficient. With 411 stitch applications instantly available at the touch of a button, and high speeds of up to 1100 stitches-per-minute, this workhorse can power through thicker fabrics with its enhanced piercing power and strong motor.

An LCD screen shows you your stitch choice, width, and length settings so that you always know exactly what you’re working with. With basic, stretch, and decorative stitches at your disposal, you can pepper projects with your own personality and creativity. With a lettering font also available, that personalisation can take the shape of monograms, words, or phrases.

The needle threader takes the frustration out of threading a new needle at the start of a stitch, so you save time when getting going. The drop and sew bobbin also allows you to have a faster start and is easy to see at all times. LED lighting illuminates your work area so that it's clear and keeps you in control.

The free arm allows you to sew hems and cuffs with greater ease and the tie-off button secures stitches and prevents unravelling at the touch of a button. Cut the thread easily with the integrated cutter at the head of the machine so there’s no worry over frayed ends or tangles.

    I am loving this machine! It’s an absolute workhorse- but so easy to use. I mainly make bags with heavy fabrics and my previous sewing machine was struggling a bit. This can cope with many layers of fabric - heavy canvas, lining and interfacing- with no problem at all. There is an amazing choice of stitches and an impressive set of presser feet! I purchased the extension table too, which I use a lot and is definitely worth investing in. It’s a quiet machine and has so many features to make life a bit easier! I would happily recommend this machine to anyone from beginner to experienced. Delivery was quick too!

    I'm a textile artist & I really put machines through they're paces, so it's fairly early days but I'm loving the machine so far. The speed is incredible & there's no shaking or movement. I was surprised, as its not a heavy machine. The assortment of stitches is perfect for what I need too. If there was 1 thing I could suggest, it would be to supply a free motion sewing foot. It's becoming very popular & I think would definitely steer more buyers to this machine

    After a break of over 40years, I decided to rekindle my love of sewing. Having had 3 singer machines previously, it made sense to stick with what I knew. I have not been disappointed. It's a fabulous machine, very easy to use and the needle threader is so simple. There's multiple stitch choices at the touch of a button and a comprehensive package of various feet.     Absolutely fantastic machine! I love it! I have arthritic thumbs so the “needle down” feature is brilliant for me as I find it difficult to turn the hand wheel. Easier to teach my granddaughters to sew with too as there’s no need to reach the presser foot, just press a switch & select a slow speed, sew easy! 😂. Love the drop in bobbin too, you can see when it’s running out! So many great features! Would recommend! 😁💚

    The sewing machine is fabulous. Really pleased with it. Going to take a while to learn all of the functions but looking forward to doing so. The delivery of the machine was within 48 hours of ordering, but the fedex delivery service was way beyond the time advised. I also purchased add-ons which came much later than the rest of the order - this was not made clear when placing the order. To conclude: very pleased with the machine, but sadly not the service!

    I took ages choosing the best sewing machine for my 18 yr old granddaughter's first machine. I am very pleased with the singer heavy duty machine. Should last her for years and years. She is delighted with all the many embroidery and stitch choices. Still at the stage of discovering all the features but in my opinion it is a well made and robust sewing machine. Very happy😊

    I’ve been using the Singer HD6705C for a few weeks now, and when I made one of my heavier bags, I realised just how much of a game changer a true heavy-duty machine can be. It powered through thick layers effortlessly, something my basic domestic machine would’ve struggled with. With 410+ built-in stitches, loads of features, and a rock-solid build, it feels like a serious upgrade. Stitching is smooth, the interface is intuitive, and the LED lighting is brilliant for detailed work. But it didn’t come with a manual, which made exploring all the features more of a slow, casual process, I’m still discovering things bit by bit. One downside? The Easy Thread feature. It’s never worked for me and feels too delicate, more frustrating than helpful. I wouldn’t rely on it. That aside, the HD6705C is a powerhouse. If you’re sewing thick materials or working on structured projects, it’s a fantastic investment.
