I've been wanting a Singer 9960 for years, but I was a bit skeptical after I read the reviews – some of them were not great, but I had outgrown my beginner Singer 2263, and the feed dog was worn. So... while on a trip to the UK, I took a bold decision and bought 2! Lol! One for myself, one for my friend. And boy, am I glad I did! I love, love, love my new sewing machine. Everything came as described. I watched the "getting started" videos on the Singer channel on YouTube and learned how to thread the machine and the basics of how to use it. Though it looked daunting in the beginning, especially the threading, in the end, it wasn't so bad. And once I tried the first test stitches, I was in love! Everything was so smooth. I haven't had too much time since I got back (I work a full-time job), but I have managed to make a 2-piece garment (a blouse with an in-built corset and a tiered skirt with gathers at the hem), and since I don't own a serger, I finished off my raw edges with an overcasting stitch, all with the one machine. Even my mom was impressed with the finish! Of course I did all this guided by my manual, but it was not half as hard as I had anticipated. It was relatively easy in fact. All in all, I am really glad I bought this machine. I hope it serves me well, and as long as the 2263 which I've had for over 10 years.
Note, though, that the thread cutter can slip forward and make the bobbin thread catch. This happened to me once during my first few tries and took hours of googling to figure out. There's nothing on it on the manual's troubleshooting page. But once I found where that cutter was and pushed it back in place as recommended by what I found online, everything went back to normal and has been since. Nearly gave me a heart attack though! Regardless, I still maintain the 5 stars. This is only my second sewing machine, and I have only used Singer, but at this point, I would definitely recommend the 9960 to others.

Excellent machine... an upgrade I've waited for ( with big expectations) and I'm not disappointed at all. Machine is a dream and I've adjusted to the convenience of not using the pedal and is very easy. My one and only grumble is the machine light is not bright enough but that's the same with a lot of them nowadays. I've simply purchased adhesive LEDs for sewing machines.

I’ve had my Singer Talent for quite a while and I was worried I would find the jump to a quantum difficult; it couldn’t be father from the truth, it was a breeze. So smooth and quiet. I am delighted.
In love with my Quantum Stylist. I altered a dress with it first, it sailed over an incredibly light weight lining and executed a beautiful blind hem stitch. It has so many accessories in the box, the only additional thing I brought was an invisible zipper foot.
I just got my new machine yesterday. At first I was extremely confused and I watched a few tutorials online and I’m in LOVE with it. So so so impressed and the iron is amazing too. I initially thought they forgot to package my accessories but there’s an amazing storage unit within the sewing table I love how compact everything is and the stitch options are great! Very impressed and would defo but if you’re a beginner - advanced!
I now have used my machine for a few months. I rate this as a 5 star. It is easy to use. And very quiet.
I have used the walking foot and this is really great. To have all the feet needed means no more outlay of money.
It's great. So many stitches I still haven't used. Doing patchwork presently and it's going a dream. Just love the automatic thread cutter. The lettering amuses the grandchildren. It is so clever and so much quieter than my last machine although the pedal is no where near as sturdy, feels a touch flimsy.

Excellent quality and a fantastic array of sewing options for all abilities to easily access. When first using the sewing machine, I played with a variety of stitches and fabrics, it was fun as well as enabled me to feel more confident.
I’ve only just started learning to sew and this machine is great. It’s so easy to use and the machine tells you which foot you should use with which stitch. The top loading bobbin makes life so much easier as you can see when it’s empty. The threading of the machine is quick and simple. This machine is almost fool proof. I 100% recommend this machine to anyone and it even came with a 12 year warranty!
I love my new machine. It's so smooth!! The instruction booklet doesn't explain things very well for me but everything I've struggled with, I've found a YouTube video for. Can't believe how many great functions it has

Have wanted this machine for a while. Bought a Brother 5 years ago but never very happy with it. Constantly chews up my fabric and just refuses to sew some fabrics. Only used this for buttonholes as yet but I am sure it will be fine. My Brother was too light in weight, this is perfect. Stable but not too heavy. I was particularly encouraged by all the other purchasers and their five star reviews. I think this is an excellent machine for all the attributes it has, some of which you only get on much more expensive machines. I have yet to sit and have a good play but I am confident this machine will deliver.

Moved from an old machine with limited functions. This has been a delight to explore the different features including using different presser feet for hemming. While this model has been around for a while, I can understand why it’s still here, why change what works so well.
Since. My machine will arrive in January I have not had the pleasure of using it.

Bought a Singer Quantum Stylist 9960 from the outlet for my wife as a step up from her previous machine. It’s an amazing piece of kit! So many functions on it. Button holes are a piece of cake for her now! Easy to use, quick, well designed, she loves it and you couldn’t ask for more from a sewing machine. It should keep her going for some years.
Decided to update my machine from a Singer Confidence 7463 and I couldn’t be happier. The new machine has all the features I was looking for at a price I was willing to pay.
