Description

I can confirm that this walking foot fits a singer's sewing 1409 machine perfectly and has been easy to fit and even better to use. I am a first-time quilt maker and it was perfect for delivering high quality stitching and even feeding through multiple layers of thick fabric and wadding, preventing any annoying bunching up. The arm that comes with it is very good also for adjusting where you want your seam width. I will say there was only a very basic set of instructions sent with it. However, it is very easy to install on your YouTube machine. There are plenty of good YouTube videos and Google forums out there, anyway, if you need more help! The online chat function is also brilliant and I got a really helpful lady who pointed me in the right direction and gave me great advice on different questions I had. The delivery did take longer than expected. However, this was during the Royal Mail strike, so this is not really Singer's fault. I was very pleased, however, to find that Singer was posted to Northern Ireland. So many places now refuse to do so after Brexit etc. Thank you Singer for another exceptional product!

I had to wash a couple of You tube tutorials to get info on how to install the walking foot foot, a bit fiddly at first, but soon got the hang of it! This foot is great for sewing velvet make up bags and Christmas stockings especially tacking bulkier seams.

The foot is easy to fit and works well. I have used it on quilts and it certainly does prevent the three layers of the quilt from bunching up or creating a "bow wave" in front of the foot. I would recommend it. It comes with a separate "arm" that helps to maintain the width of a seam.
